The origins of MORE

Over a decade ago, a young woman, pregnant with her first child, found her and her husband’s dream home – their forever home. The search had been exhausting, but with the help of a seasoned REALTOR®, they found it. A place where they could grow their family — where so many firsts would happen. First steps, first words, and the first of so many birthdays and celebrations to come.

With the sale of their starter home pending, they made an offer — the absolute top of their budget. If they got it, things would be tight for a while, but it would be worth it. They hoped and crossed fingers, but the seller was stuck on one point — appliances. And they would not budge.

The soon-to-be mom and her husband couldn’t believe the seller would be willing to let the sale die over a washer and dryer. With no money left over to purchase a new set, the young woman suggested to her REALTOR® consider cutting her commission a bit, to help them out. After all, she had been very helpful.

The REALOR® fired the couple on the spot, the deal fell through and the next day the sign on their lawn was gone. The young couple were shocked. Even though the REALTOR® was getting paid so much for the two deals, she wasn’t willing to work with the couple – not even a little. It didn’t seem right.

The next day, the woman signed up to become a REALTOR® and vowed to always be there for her clients, giving them all the service, care and attention they deserve…and then some.
